Abraham Lincoln Conference Celebrating Ashbrook Center's 40th Anniversary

Did you know that November 2023 marks the 160th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address? It also marks a significant anniversary for the Ashbrook Center, which has called Ashland, OH its home for 40 years! To celebrate, the Ashbrook Center is hosting an academic conference on Abraham Lincoln on November 17-18, 2023.
The event will kick off with a keynote lecture from Dr. Diana Schaub at 3pm on Friday the 17th, which will be followed by three sessions of panels starting at 9:00am the morning of Saturday the 18th. Topics include "The Declaration of Independence and Lincoln’s War Strategy," "Lincoln, Race, and the Future of American Freedom," "What is Perfect? Lincoln and the Challenge of Perfectionism, " and many more by top-notch scholars from across the nation!
All sessions are free and open to the public and will be held in the Ronk Auditorium of the Schar College of Education on the Campus of Ashland University. The closing address will begin at 2:45pm on the 18th and is titled "Reading -- Really Reading -- The Gettysburg Address."
