This family-friendly event features goodies handed out by local businesses, 300+ illuminated jack-o’-lanterns, food trucks, costumed characters, Halloween music, and free tours of the Freer Children’s Home.
The Pumpkin Glow will be a drive-thru event again this year after last year’s event attracted over 1,000 people. Admission remains $5 per car. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online before the event, available for sale now on Facebook or the Ashland County Historical Society website. Exact change will also be accepted at the entrance.
Hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns will guide cars around the property where local businesses hand out goodies. Guests are also able to park their vehicles in the designated lot to enjoy food from Dine-and-Dash and Brew’d. The Freer Home will be open for tours at no extra charge, featuring “History of Halloween” and “Ashland Urban Legends” exhibits. The “History of Halloween” exhibit traces the origins of Halloween from its Celtic roots to Halloween’s arrival in America. “Ashland Urban Legends” exhibit features authentic spooky stories from across Ashland County.
Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Call the Ashland County Historical Society, 419-289-3111, with any questions about the event.
