Join us October 23 at 10am in our 3rd Annual North Central Ohio Out of the Darkness Walk. The core of the Out of the Darkness Walks, the Community Walks created a movement. Held in hundreds of cities across the country, they give people the courage to open up about their own struggle or loss, and the platform to change our culture’s approach to mental health. One in five people struggle with mental health, roughly 22 of our military die by suicide each day and almost twice as many people die by suicide than homicide each year in Ohio. It is the second leading cause of death in ages 15-34. The Out of the Darkness Walks are proof that when people work together, they can make big changes in the world. They are AFSP’s largest fundraiser – they produce millions for suicide prevention programs, unite those who have been affected by suicide, and create communities that are smart about mental health. We will come together at Freer Field on October 23 at 10 am in support of those who struggle with mental health, those who support someone who struggle with mental health challenges, those who have lost someone to suicide and in memory of the beautiful souls who have died by suicide.
