Canoe, Kayak, and Standup Paddleboard owners – This is the perfect opportunity for both veterans and newcomers alike to get out and enjoy the beautiful waters of Charles Mill Lake. The Black Fork River Canoe & Kayak race will be held on Saturday, June 27th with the start line at the boat ramp at 1272 SR 430 in Mifflin. There will be a six mile loop race as well as a three mile novice race for beginners. There will be classes for men, women, and mixed teams. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each class. All types of canoes, kayaks, and SUPs are welcome. Recreational paddlers who don’t race regularly will easily be able to complete the three mile race, while hard core racers will enjoy the challenge of the six mile course. The entry fee is $20 per person. Registration starts at 8 AM with a mandatory pre-race meeting at 9:30 and the race beginning at 10:00. Fee includes a T-Shirt for all paddlers.
