Our annual end-of-summer-reading event is fun for the whole family! Kids of all ages (including kids at heart!) are invited to climb on, sit behind the wheel of, and explore a variety of fantastic vehicles, many from local businesses and organizations. Plus, get the inside scoop on what it's like to operate them from the drivers!
The first hour is a quiet hour where no horn honking is permitted. This is for our sound sensitive visitors, and it also gives the exhibitors a reprieve from the noise (three hours of honking is a lot to ask from anyone!).
This vehicular extravaganza spills over into the parking lots adjacent to the library (the municipal building parking lot and the county parking lot) and typically features many types of vehicles including police cars, fire trucks, tow trucks, race cars, buses, construction vehicles, bomb squad equipment, cranes, snow plows, and ambulances, just to name a few!
