Once again it is time to meet about Going Green.
Last month we touched on personal experiences with trying to reduce waste, and we all got a lot of new ideas.
We also found out that the County of Ashland is doing a study to determine the feasibility of keeping the County Recycling Center open.
Karisa Wild attended a meeting of the County Commissioners and brought up her concerns about closing or privatizing the center. This meeting, we will have an update, and will have some more ideas to share!
So...come to our meeting!
Zero Waste - Carbon Footprint...these phrases and others are in the mainstream much more now. But what do they really mean? How can we incorporate them into our individual lifestyles in a meaningful, productive way? We grew up with catchy phrases like, "Give a hoot, don't pollute!" so we all know we shouldn't throw our trash out the window, but what MORE can we as individuals do to help reduce the amount of waste we generate, and how can we create change in our community?
Let's brainstorm together in this no-cost discussion group!
Bring your best ideas for reducing your carbon footprint, share them with your fellow Ashlanders and learn how little daily changes can help heal the earth.
Together we can make a difference!
Between now and the next meeting, if you want some ideas to try, check out these links:
