Community Movie Night
Friday, July 29, 2016 - 9:00pm
ASHLAND, Ohio – Community members of all ages are invited to attend a free “Community Movie Night” set for July 29 at 9 p.m. on the front lawn of Founders Hall on the Ashland University campus. The movie to be shown is Zootopia, a 2016 3D computer-animated comedy mystery adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Those attending the Movie Night should bring lawn chairs or blankets, and in addition to the movie they will be offered at no charge a number of food items including banana split sundaes, popcorn from the popcorn bar and mix-ins such as gummy bears, mini marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces, M&Ms and peanuts.
In addition, a free raffle will be held for the “Best Seat in the House,” with the winner receiving a special seating upgrade as well as a special prize package.
The Founders Hall lawn is located off College Avenue and all campus parking lots will be open for the event. In case of rain, the event will be moved inside Redwood Hall on the quad behind Founders Hall.
The idea for Movie Night, co-sponsored by Ashland University and Ashland Main Street, was developed by Ashland’s Community Engagement Task Force.
AU President Dr. Carlos Campo said the task force has brought together city leaders and University leaders to strengthen the town and gown engagement. “It was initiated to ensure that Ashland area residents know that we are intentional about serving this community that has invested so heavily into AU over the years,” Campo said.
Those with questions regarding the Movie Night event can call 419.289.5325.
